Augusto A. Amador - Pianist/Composer
Pianist and composer Augusto A. Amador has performed and composed as a solo artist, in ensembles, and with orchestras, in concert halls and festivals around the globe, as well as for fundraising events and intimate dinner parties for VIPs and celebrities such as Bob Hope, Helen Reddy, and the Prince of Wales. Augusto was born, one of eight children, in Lima, Peru where his talent was recognized at the young age of 18, when he received a full scholarship to the prestigious National Conservatory of Music in Lima. At the conservatory he studied music and composition, launching into a professional career in piano performance after graduating. In his 20s, at the recommendation of one of his older brothers, Ezequiel Amador (accomplished violinist for the San Francisco Symphony), Augusto moved to San Francisco Bay Area, where he continued to pursue a career in music.
Within a few years, Augusto become a citizen of the United States and served in the U.S. Army where he competed and won 2nd Place in the All U.S. Army Entertainment Competition of 1959. His career continued to flourish, providing him with opportunities to perform internationally. He married, started a family, and owned and managed a successful European fine-dining restaurant for 15 years in Mountain View, California. The restaurant featured a signature piano bar where Augusto performed nightly.
Augusto has dedicated many years to community service, organizing and providing his artistic services for numerous fundraisers. He also served as President for Rotary Club of Palo Alto (1983/84) with 8 years as the General Chair for the "Rotary In Concert" series.
Augusto continues to compose and perform in Sarasota, Florida, where he resides with his loving wife.
